Extract 1

1.She says that most babies are coincidences : she speaks

about souls flying around and waiting for a body to live in. But
she also ads that most babies are accidents because of drunken
evenings and a lack of birth control.

2.She says she is not a coincidence, she was engineered. She

wonders if she would be living if her sister wasn't sick.

3.She was engineered with a specific combination of genes to

save her sister's life.

4.Her aunt Kelly only works part time, her mother quit her
job as a lawyer. Everything revolves around cooking and
cleaning. Everything is steamed, organic and germ-free.

5.They love each other, they get on well, they laugh together
and they are nice to each other.

Segment 2

1. She says that the operation is dangerous and she is scared

that something might happen to her. She will not be able to do
sports, be a cheerleader, go to parties, get pregnant, drink. She
doesnt want to have things cut out of her.

2.Her father tries to reassure and comfort her. The mother is

very angry. They dont understand her reaction and disagree.
They are disappointed.

3.I think shes right to do what she wants to do with her body.
She has the right to choose her future. The operation is very
important/dangerous/risky so she has the right to give her
opinion.She feels angry, anxious and unimportant.

4.They dont accept/refuse her decision.

I think theyre right to demand the donation to save their
daughter and she was designed/created for that.
I think they shouldnt demand the donation because Annas
life is as important as her sisters.

Segment 3

1.She wants to sue her parents for the rights to her own body.
2. She wants to convince her parents to give up the idea of the
donation. Her parents are trying to force her to give her sister
who has leukemia her kidney, her body parts.

3.He agrees with her and tells her that her parents cant force
her even if shes under 18.

4. Theyve been taking her body parts her whole life. The
doctors started taking things from her since she was born :
cord blood, lymphocytes, white cell transfusions She was
made to be a spare parts baby for Kate.

5. Her sister will die.
