My magazine is going to be a festival based music magazine. It will
feature all types of music, including pop, indie and rock but primarily pop. As it is a festival edition of the magazine, the target audience will be ages 16-25. These are the people that you typically see going to festivals and would probably benefit the most from the information about what to take and the line ups. The demographics of the audience will be both male and female as there are no gender specific festivals. The people reading the magazine are most likely to be at college or university, a few maybe just starting a career. This means categorys C2, D, and E as students fall into category E, and the rest are the starts of careers that you work up in which you tend to do within the 20s. There wouldnt be a specific religion as festivals tend to be quite rowdy with lots of alcohol which some religions may not accept but it is down to personal choice. The geo demographics would be people who lived in semi-detached/ detached houses, in wealthier areas but not rich. This is because the price to get into a festival can be quite expensive at over 100 which those with smaller houses may not be able to afford, which is similar with those who are unemployed as they may not be able to afford the entry fees either. However, it is very unlikely to attract those of the upper class with wealthier taste, as they would probably prefer to spend their money on more tasteful events including classical music. The psychographics would include people who enjoy music as they want to know more information on where they can experience music live, quite outgoing and party-like people. As there are different aspects of festivals, there will be mainstreamers who enjoy the pop side of the festivals and then also explorers for those who enjoy the indie and alternative artists.
