SCHOOL VISION
Mililani High Schools vision is to develop a community of compassionate lifelong learners who experience
positive personal growth and will contribute to society.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course serves as an introduction to graphic design and video production. This course will cover the arts and
communication core standards. Students will design media to communicate, utilize computer graphics and video
applications, and conduct lab projects.
HOMEWORK/CLASSWORK POLICY
No late work will be allowed unless due to an excused absence, which upon return to school requires an excuse
note from the office.
ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE
Students are encouraged to ask for assistance if needed. The instructor is usually available for assistance. After
school assistance is usually available by previous arrangement.

GRADING SCHEME
The grades for this course will be obtained by totaling the points earned from the following sections:
1. Homework
2. Class assignments
3. Projects
4. Quizzes, tests and assessments
5. Participation
PARTICIPATION POINTS
Students will be given 50 points per quarter to accomodate the grading of GLOs. There will be a deduction of
points for every time the student displays inappropriate behavior.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES:
1. Paper towel [One roll]
2. Masking tape [2 inch]
3. Fine tip sharpie
4. Roller ball pen - black ink, fine point
5. Regular pencils [NOT MECHANICAL]
6. USB thumb drive [1GB or more]
7. 12 pack color pencils
8. Ziplock bag to store supplies #3 to #7
9. Spiral notebook
Please label ALL supplies with student first name, last name, and ACCP period #
Note: Paper towel and masking tape will be turned in to the teacher. The rest of the supplies will remain stored
in classroom.

CLASSROOM RULES
ALL school rules apply to this class at all times. In addition, here are a few rules for this class:
1. Be RESPECTFUL to one another - respect each others property, thoughts, ideas, opinions, feelings and
differences.
2. Be RESPONSIBLE for yourself and your work - be responsible for your work, your actions and your attitude.
3. Safety first - keep a clean and safe work space. Report any dangerous conditions to the teacher immedi-
ately. Push in chairs, wipe up spills, remove sunglasses and hats, regularly clean and maintain space by
throwing away trash, and NO playing around. Equipment and machines are to be used ONLY with teacher
permisiion. Do not wander around class - students should remain seated throughout the class period.
4. No cell phones or electronics. Keep all electronics off, silent and out of sight. Do not leave valuables unat-
tended.
6. Be on time - students should be seated in assigned seats by the time the bell rings.
7. Students should not be behind the teachers desk, near classroom equipment or around the sink area with-
out permission from the teacher. Students should also not open cabinets or drawers without permission from
the teacher.
CONSEQUENCES
First offense: Warning
Second offense: Detention
Third offense: Student will be referred to the office and parents will be notified

Machines and other lab equipment are safeguarded as much as possible. General safety and safe lab
practices will be emphasized repeatedly. However, bodily injury can occur through carelessness, misuse of
equipment, or disobedience.

the teacher, observed the teachers demonstration, passed the safety exam and successfully completed my
initial student performance under the supervision of my teacher.

in horseplay.
I promise to report all accidents, even though they may be minor to the teacher immediately.
