78 Before gluing the two sides of the flags,

fit the raw thread 308 in the centre and
fit the strengtheners 472 (made from the
0.5mm brass thread) so that when both sides
are joined, there is a slight wave. Fit and rig the
308 small flag 473 onto the mainmast (yellow
473
arrows). Fit the flag 474 rig on the end of the
mizzen gaff 392 (blue arrows) and the signals
flags 475 (red arrows). The latter two are
threaded through the blocks 348 located at the
end of the gaff 392, and are tied into the small
308 eyebolts 93.

79 Make the rope bobbins 476, using a 12mm

tool handle on which to wind the thread
308. Remove the bobbin and cut the thread,
leaving enough thread to twist around the rope
bobbin neck. With a drop of fast-setting glue, stick
this end to the bobbin and cut off any excess
thread. Glue these bobbins onto the various pin-
rails located on deck.
