How does your Racial Equity goal align to your School improvement Plan? * (Math, Literacy, Engagement, and Graduation) We need more time to complete this answer. It will directly align to our reading, math and engagement goals. What are the personal transformation changes your staff will make as a result? * Staff will continue to read about and reflect upon issues of equity and how it affects them personally and how it affects their practice as teachers. Teachers will assess and implement something from the four practices of culturally responsive teaching in their classroom. What are the instructional transformation changes your staff will make as a result? * Staff at schoo! will collaborate regularly to discuss best practices for culturally responsive teaching for instructional planning both short and long term. Teachers and support staff will share ideas and support each other. What are the structural transformation changes your staff will make as a result? * Racial equity will be part of our buildings ongoing staff development. Team meetings will include segments that address racial equity - Ted Talks or other media related to topics. School-wide events will be sensitive to and inclusive of all racial groups. We will look for ways to make all families feel welcome and supported. What evidence will you collect to demonstrate ongoing engagement and growth around your goal area? * Teacher and staff anecdotes about progress towards goals. Results of parent and student surveys given throughout the year. Artifacts found in classrooms and school that reflect racial equity. How will your team or site keep each other accountable to this goal throughout the year? * Team planning on a regular basis using the lens of equity. Learning walks and peer observations to discuss equity. Participation in book clubs or discussion groups around racial equity. What supports does our team need to implement our goal? Include materials, resources, and PD supports. * Embedded time in weekly planning to focus on issues of equity. Consistent focus on equity through staff development throughout the year. Opportunities for further training in areas of racial equity outside of school.
