Abstract
As for ideas and forms of architectures, the east and the west have developed different approach to
architectures, depending on the different tradition, culture, geography, social normality. Generally speaking, the
west architectures represent the idea of function and practice. On the other hand, the east architectures emphasize
on the distinction of socially moral orders. The aim of this paper is to discuss that under the influence of west
power, how the Chinese traditional architectures take the idea of the west and appropriate to the use of the
Chinese tradition. Therefore, this paper has focus on what changes happened to the architecture in modern china,
how the Chinese idea of architecture adopted the west of that, and the process by which the west idea of
architecture influenced the east.
