EPC 2903 Interview questions including PDP goal

1. What is something you did this year that went

better than you thought it would?

In this semester, I evolved on transition strategies. The MCT

was advanced me to focus on this aspect. The transition
strategy was helping me to manage students, how to switch
from activity to another activity and do not let them feel
bored during the lesson. I noticed the students' reaction
during the lesson and how were interactive with me, the
teacher was shocked from the students how was their active
with me because the children low level was excited to want
to answer the question. I feel proud that I achieved my goal
through the MST feedback.

2. What has caused you the most stress this year?

In this semester I faced many diffi culties I tried to

overcome, but I could not handle it well. How to deal with
the math and science teachers. They weren't collaborators
with me. I felt like they don't want me to stay in the
classroom while they taught the students. I tried to ask her
for any help; they said thank you, no thank you, I can do it.
The students were very comfortable with me, that let her
feel annoyed her. At the end that keeps I felt uncomfortable.
3. What is one way that you grew professionally this
year?

Always I tried to model as a real teacher during the

practicum. While the staff has a meeting, we attended to
gets more experience like some strategy that they use it
help us in the future and we tried to be on time. Im
proud of myself while I did performing art with other
students teacher. We faced many diffi culties that kept us
active such as we havent timed to prepare before. The
short time keeps doing the lesson as a team teacher;
each student teacher gets from her class two students. At
the end of the lesson, we saw our goals achieved
because we collaborated during the lesson.

4. Explain how you differentiated activities and

supported students this semester?

During this practicum, I observed that my MST have a

traditional style in teaching. Always, she teaches the
students in one way. I asked her if she has differentiated
activities or not. I was surprised that the teacher does not
use different levels of activities because that helps the
teacher and the students during the lesson. The teacher can
now their student's levels and who need focuses more to
understand the lesson. Moreover, that will challenge the
students and develop their thinking. According to Vygotsky,
the Zone of Proximal Development is the difference between
what a student can learn with or without the help of the
teacher. I tried to support the students in her teaching style;
I thought this style is a board for the students and they
don't have the chance to be creativity.

5. Which student in your class do you think showed

the most improvement? Why do you think this
student did so well?

While I enter the classroom first time, I start to observe the

behavior and students levels. I focused on the low levels
students. I was tried to work more with students low level.
After several days I saw their development, they improved
on their level. I focused on one student his name is
MMDOH. He can count from 1 to 100 but need to review
every day to be able to count before and after numbers and
for addition and subtraction. I saw their improvement
through his interaction during the lesson and the exam
result. The teacher was proud of him because now he can
count before and after numbers.

6. Who was your most challenging student? Why?

That is the first time that I deal with special need students.
In the beginning, I was worried and nervous about how to
handle special need students because I don't have
experience how to treat them. The challenged student I
have it in this practicum, one girl with developmental delay.
She is nine years old, and it's supposed to be in grade sixth,
but the mental abilities of learning and physical movement
are feeble, so that is ways she's in Kindergarten with five
years old students. While l observed at the practicum, most
of the special need cases are integrating into government
and private school with regular people. I noticed that she's
very sensitive and crying when the student's misbehavior
with her or shouting while took to her. I tried in several
attempts to teach her in several ways, but I could not
achieve it for many reasons such as she did not respond to
me when I asked her. Always I saw her in her imagination.
That is way I cant teacher her any things.

7. Describe the behavior management strategies you

used this year and their effectiveness.

The strategy that I use it this semester reward system. I

create a reward system to manage the students while
explaining the lesson. That help me to achieve my goal
what I plan for it too occurred organized. However, I have
three boys were are misbehavior, and they should be busy
because they interrupted their friends while doing the
activity and this strategy that help the teacher to manage
the classroom. Moreover, that contributes to encouraging
the students to keep them want to finish the activities and
being active during the lesson. The benefit of the reward
system that helps me to the misbehavior declined over the
lesson.

8. What was the biggest mistake you made this year?

How can you avoid making the same mistake in the
future?
At the first day of this practicum when I enter the
classroom, the features of my face were serious. I start felt
that the students were uncomfortable while saw me, after
two weeks the students were adept me. It's nice when the
teacher let the students feel comfortable with her, but I
should have set limits between the students and me. Also,
that let my MST feel I annoyed her while she was explaining
the lesson because some students they came to talk with
me, or they said sit behind me, and that let me feel the
embarrassed as interrupt her explanation of the lesson, but
I do not mean it.
9. Describe the progress that you made towards your
PDP goal and show evidence to support this.

My PDP goal for last semester was trying to explain the

concept in easy and different ways for the children to
develop their skills through the differentiated activities. It's
for three levels of the students which are the low, medium
and high levels because I believe that each student had a
different level and can learn from different ways. According
to Jean Piaget children in low level can learn by doing such
as can learn the mathematical shapes while play with
playdough create shapes. So that help the students to
develop their physical fine motor skills. The medium level
students mostly can learn through the listening skills that is
helping them to develop their thinking and language skills.
The high-level students always like to do the hard activities
like solving math problem and puzzles. My PDP goal for this
semester is how to deal with special need students. At the
begging, I was excited that I will start the deal with special
need students. But in fact, I have encountered diffi culty in
handling special need students. I had one girl with
developmental delay. I made several attempts to be able to
deal with it, but I did not succeed and achieved my goal
because she did not respond to me when I asked her.
Always I saw her in her imagination. That is way I cant
teacher her any things
