Benchmark Results
Celebrations:
Math scores in both Calculator and Non Calculator were up!
We performed better than other schools in our cluster and in
MNPS on both ELA and Math
Concerns:
We still have a large number of students who are scoring at less
than 80% in both ELA and Math.
Disconnect between TLA results, student grades, and Benchmark
Results
Questions:
1. Of the students who scored less than 80%, which of those students
likely made careless mistakes taking the test? We need to identify
those students and work with them to develop strategies that will help
eliminate those errors (see Spreadsheet with list of individual student
results).
2. Of the students in that category (less than 80%) who did not simply
make careless mistakes, are we ensuring that they are getting the
intervention that they need (both during core instruction and RTI
time)? These students need different support than students discussed
in question 1.
3. Are the RTI groups based on a combination of assessment results
(Benchmark, FastBridge, TLA)?
4. Are the CFAs weve been designing correlating with the Benchmark
results? How about the results of those CFAs?
5. EL/Special Education considerations?
1. We have completed the mapping for the 3rd Nine weeks. Are the
standards that are being taught each week going to be assessed with a
single assessment at the end of the week? If we are trying to break
down how they are doing on each standard, how can we separate those
out when we put them in the data tracker?
2. How can we use the data tracker more effectively? If we are meeting
on Monday, how can we make sure that the data from the CFA is
entered by the time we meet?
3. What is the most effective way to look at the data from the CFAs?
Would it help if I came in each Monday with some key information taken
4th Grade TeamPlanning Day discussion
4. How many standards are being repeated from the 1st semester? Can
we go ahead and identify the standards that are being repeated, but
that the students have clearly mastered?
6. How can we best utilize the additional staff member we hope to have in
place for the open 4th Grade position?
