To Whom It May Concern:

I recommend Kelsey Krumme for any teaching positions that you may have available. Miss Krummes
16 week student teaching experience was in a third grade classroom at Nicholson School, Aurora, IL
District 129 during the spring semester of 2016 Miss Krumme worked with a very diverse group of
students in a low income, racially diverse setting. Miss Krumme demonstrated that she was
organized, professional, hard-working, and willing to learn. Miss Krumme assumed her
responsibilities with a smile, flexibility, and a focused intent to provide the best education possible for
her students.

Miss Krumme closely followed district curriculum and the directions of her cooperating teacher as she
developed instruction. She effectively delivered student centered instruction to all students. Each time
I observed Miss Krumme her lesson plan was thorough and organized. Her lessons were well
planned, designed to motivate all students, and constructed to meet the various learning styles of
those students. She incorporated technology and group work into most lessons. She established a
good rapport with her students. She used a variety of materials, technology (computer, document
viewer, videos), audio-visual aids, and supplemental materials to reach and maintain student interest.
She organized learning experiences for the purposeful involvement of each pupil. Miss Krumme
consistently refined her classroom management techniques to meet the needs of her students. She
communicated her expectations for appropriate behavior and effectively monitored student learning.
Her desire to improve her teaching skills helped her to grow in her abilities as an educator. She put
forth the necessary time and effort outside of the school day as evidenced by the advance preparation
of materials and significant background information. She continued to build the skills necessary in
teaching. She was reflective and analytical about her teaching. She consistently evaluated herself and
the success of her lessons. She constantly challenged herself to develop new approaches to meet the
needs of the students. She continually improved throughout the term.

Miss Krumme became a valued teaching partner with her cooperating teacher. She established strong
professional relationships with the staff at Nicholson.

Miss Krumme completed and passed the Aurora University edTPA Illinois licensure portfolio as part
of her student teaching experience. She accepted the challenge of this difficult and complex task in
addition to all the challenges of student teaching. EdTPA is a performance based assessment of
teaching quality and effectiveness. To complete the edTPA assessment, Miss Krumme was required to
submit a video, artifacts, and commentaries as evidence of her planning and implementation of
instruction to deepen student learning in literacy. The edTPA assessment is similar to the National
Board Certification process.

Miss Krumme is hard working and willing to learn. She will listen to others, utilize self-reflection, and
ask for help when needed. She continued throughout the experience to develop the skills necessary in
teaching. Her strengths are engaging well planned lessons, dependability, organization, a multitude of
classroom management strategies, and self-reflection.

Having worked with student teachers for many years, I feel that Miss Krumme is ready for her own
classroom. She will make a lasting impression on the students and teaching community where she
works. I believe that Miss Krumme will be a wonderful first year teacher, and, in time, develop into
the teacher that administrators expect. I also anticipate that Miss Krumme will demonstrate growth
faster than most. She would be an excellent addition to any elementary teaching staff.

I would be happy to further elaborate on Miss Krummes excellent student teaching experience. For
