SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the
students in this class?
This game can be played inside or outside. If it is a nice day out, we will play at Stagg Field
Track. If it is not, we will play in the fieldhouse. The students are very capable of performing the
skill.

Safety: Students need to
make sure to look before
they throw the bean bag- so
they wont hit one of their
peers. Students should also
make sure that they dont
step in the middle of the
cornhole games to avoid
being hit by a bean bag.
Signals:
Start Signal: ready go!
Stop Signal: 3,2,1 Freeze
Check for understanding:
Ask a student what our stop
and go signals are. Also, ask
the students to name the two
safety measures they need to
take.
Lesson purpose: Today we
will be learning the skill cues
to the underhand throw for
cornhole.
Skill cues:
-arm back
-Step with opposition
-follow through
Student demonstration:
Have a student volunteer to
demonstrate the activity.
Pinpointing: We will
pinpoint someone who is
doing a great job following
the skill cues.

Activity 3:
Students will play a game S S S S
with their partner and
another group. Each game
will go to 11 and once the
game is done, one of the
groups will move to the right

each time they finish a game.
Teams will keep track of
their wins and losses and at
the end of the class the T T
records will be recorded.
The scoring system is 1 point
for bean bag on hula hoop, 2
points for being inside the
hula hoop, and 3 points for
the bean bag landing on a hot
spot.
