The organization hierarchy has been divided into 17 grades. Each increasing grade reflects an
increase in the salary package and may reflect an increment in designation and/or
responsibilities. Please note that the respondent from Nucleus Software was unable to share
the salary structure due to the organization's confidentiality rules, but assured us that the
packages were comparable to those offered in the IT industry in general.
Grades 3,4 and 5 are team members. They are individual contributors to the team. B.E/B.Tech
are recruited from campus in Grade 3. M.E/M.Tech/M.C.A are recruited from campus in
Grade 4. They are assessed for basic Java, SQL and communication skills.
Grades 6 and 7 are Team leads. They are responsible for team synchronization and
management. They are expected to interface with senior management as well. They are
expected to attend leadership development programs or take up a MBA course. The
organization provides the required financial assistance.
Grades 8 and 9 are analysts. Grade 10 are managers/senior analysts. They are responsible for
managing multiple teams. Leave tracking, performance monitoring, motivating the team,
ensuring knowledge sharing within and across teams, project planning are some of their
important functions. They are administered psychometric tests in order to estimate their
fitness for leadership positions.
Vice Presidents are Grades 11 and 12 employees. Executive Vice Presidents belong to Grades
13 to 15. They are entrusted with the leadership of a business unit in the organization.
Presidents belong to Grade 16 and the CEO to Grade 17.

The job description for the Vice President i.e. Profile 4 is generic in nature. The
organization wants to recruit the V-P to head a specific business unit (For eg:
Embedded Systems, Telecom, HR etc). Hence, it would further help the organization
if the candidate is an expert in that particular domain. Hence, this detail and any
responsibilities unique to leading that domain should be clearly mentioned as it will
help the candidates to evaluate the merits of the profile offered.
