Step 2: The purpose of this source is the to talk about the history of Afrocentrism and where it

came. It talks about how it came about since before time, for example during the black Egyptians

period to civil rights and modern day black history. Afrocentrism is the original term for

Afrocentric Movement. Black history is evolving to this day. I think its a strong source.

Step 3: Yes, this source will help because it starts off with this background of what Afrocentric

means and where is was derived from. The term Afrocentric was derived from African who were

in slavery.

Step 4: Gerald is a professor of modern letters. Its a data source so all information collected by

him and he has done great research. He writ for different magazine and scholarly sources.

Step 2: This is a good source because it talks about the history of black back during the

Egyptians times. Its a good representation of black being oppressed even back then. It explains

how they came about in Egyptians history and how lighter Egyptians tried to hide darker skinned

ones form history. Then the darker one rose to power, originating from African tribes. Its strong

sources because it talks about where black history began.

Step 3: I think this source is would be helpful to how black history began, but it might not be the

best source to continue in my modern research about history. Its also a magazine source so this

another way to cover my research.

Step 4: Boyle is one of the magazine authors of national geographic. She has written many

sources for the magazine company for many years.

Step 2: This source is valuable to our research because it talks about one of the most important

black evolution movements in history. This will be one of the sources that talks about political

movements within the Afrocentric movement. The propose of this source is to describe how

much blacks wanted to grow and evolve to be equal, whether it was through violence and

peaceful protest, and black community projects.

Step 3: Yes, this source will help talk about movement black people had to take to make equality

possible. It will lead into topic such as civils rights.

Step 2: The purpose of this source it is to talk about what has become of modern day black

history. Today we have our own month to celebrate the achievements of black artist, poets,

musicians, spokesman, the president, etc. The success of black people fall in this month and what

needs to be appreciated and talked about.

Step 3: This source will help in my paper because we are talking about the development of

African Americans/blacks and how successful they have become. How they encouraged many of

our people to achieve the same goals and better. How education and setting goals is important to

be successful.

Step 4: Fact Monster is a somewhat creditable source. It allows you to go where theyve

collected their information. Its almost like a data base expect it leads to other websites an

informational source that help with our project. But the other websites would have to check as

creditable.

Step 2: This source goes more into depth about why black history month is important and how it

came about. Who gave of this month and why we derived to celebrate. It talks about who

celebrates and why where are encouraged to celebrate this month.

Step 3: History and where everything comes from is important in this project and paper. The

history of black history month also talks about where the NAACP came from.

Step 4: History.com is a creditable source because it collect all data from history. It talks about

black history and contain many event thats that have occurred. They have a staff of historians

who dedicate their lives to educating other on what happens through history and keep record of

it.

named Maya Angelou. How she grows and how successful she become after a sad childhood full

of poverty and rape and how she overcame it.

Step 3: This source is a book written by one of the most famous black women in the Americas.

She is one the most successful and has done some much for the black community. She is also a

famous poet which another reason why this source helps explains another movement that may be

talked about in our project, The Harlem Renaissance

Step 4: Why is this author so important because she a creditable source for how difficult it was

growing up as an African American woman in a time of inequality and racism. She is known for

may famous poets like Phenomenal Women and Still I Rise.

Step 2: Culture is important in black history and so is hair. Weve integrated the ideas of having

straight hair is important for getting a job, but is it really. Is it how where supposed to look? No

Finding our roots as blacks people means going back to way our history started. My curls, my

rough, and knotty roots make me who I am.

equality. Without this source, we couldnt explain the importance of the Afrocentric movement

fundamental health choice. It also talks about skills and why how Black women maintain their

natural curls. Even talks about the transiting if your hair is relaxed or the big chop.

Step 3: This source will help during our presentation on how to apply natural hair products, how

we transitioned why its so important, the cost and how the natural hair industry has grown over

the years. This is also a modern-day trend.

Step 4: Opiah is spent years working for two of New York Citys top digital advertising agencies

where she created and executed online marketing strategies for blue chip companies like

Verizon, Avon and the Dial Corporation. I think she does good research is creditable.

during the Harlem Renaissance. This will lead into the importance of the Renaissance and how it

grew the culture of black lives.
