TEACHING PLAN ON ELECTROLYTE IMBALANCE

DESCRIPTION OF THE LEARNER: The learner is Meneses, Themotee Paul, 19 years old, Male, Roman Catholic, was diagnosed
with Rectal Cancer last February 2016 and underwent chemotherapy in April-May 2016. The patient began to have continuous
confinement since November due to weakness and Electrolyte Imbalance. He verbalized, Okay na ako sa milk, pwede na yan.
but her Mother insisted to find other ways to correct his electrolyte imbalances. Also, her mother will be included in the teaching
because of interest to correct his imbalances and be knowledgeable about it so that her preparation of foods to her son will be
effective. The learner is a student, who can understand Tagalog, Pangalatok and English.

LEARNING NEED: Knowledge about Importance of Electrolytes

LEARNING DIAGNOSIS: Knowledge deficit related to lack of knowledge as manifested by claiming that he is contented to milk
only to correct his electrolyte imbalance.

GOAL: After 20 minutes of student nurse-patient and significant others interaction, the patient and the significant others will be
aware and able to strenghthen their knowledge about electrolytes to have proper interventions.

CONTENT STRATEGY EVALUATION


1. Discuss the importance of One-on-one discussion Instant oral feedback: Able to
electrolytes(Na,Cl,K) identify atleast 2 importance of
each electrolytes
2. Enumerate foods rich in One-on-one discussion; With visual Instant oral feedback: Able to
Sodium aids identify atleast 2 foods rich in
sodium
3. Enumerate foods rich in One-on-one discussion;With Visual Instant oral feedback: Able to
Potassium aids identify atleast 2 foods rich in
potassium
