To Craig Henry:

My name is Ryan Connolly and I am aspiring to become Southern Regionals next High School Chemistry teacher.
Currently, I am working at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology, but as an alumnus, I have the ambition to become
a full-time Southern Regional Ram. With my work experience, education, and background, I believe that I would be an
ideal candidate to become Southern Regional School Districts newest addition to the Science Department.

I have obtained a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Richard Stockton University. Using my background
in chemistry, ecology, oceanography, geology, and environmental science, I have been able to utilize my skills in the
field. I have gained first-hand experience in the science field by instructing tours at county and federal parks, collecting
data for Rutgers and for an environmental consulting company, and by being an appointed member of Stafford
Townships Environmental Committee.

Eventually, I returned to school to take more chemistry classes, and then obtained my Certificate of Eligibility in
Chemistry. During my return to college, I began working as a substitute teacher at Southern Regional High School. This
allowed me to progress my classroom management skills and allowed me to engage with the students by assisting them
with their assignments. My return to Southern Regional reminded me of how prestigious the staff can be and how it is
well-managed. Also, it opened the opportunity for me to hone my coaching skills by becoming a volunteer Swim Coach
(BOE approved). In the future, I hope to continue coaching a sports team or to become a leader of some interactive
school clubs.

Finally, I began my teaching career at Toms River High School East and I am currently at ACIT. These positions have
given me the essential experience needed to grow and improve as an instructor. I have created a modern-day classroom
setting, which encourages the use of technology and produces the critical skills needed for a student to thrive in 21st
century job-market. I am delighted to have created a thought-provoking environment that encourages questions and
ensures positive feedback. I also enjoy creating bizarre analogies or relating the material to real-world scenarios. This
allows the students to become more engaged with the lesson, which allows them to fully understand it. I look forward
to hear from Southern Regional, so we can discuss the physical science position. I would love to continue Southerns
legacy; when I was a student, Southern provided me with many great memories, and I hope to do the same for all of its
future alumni. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this position.

-With Appreciation
