The design is great for engagement. The pictures are clear and there is no pop up
advertisements. It is good quality for being free, and the horizontal view makes it
very easy to use. The only questionable part is the directions. They are hard to find
under a question mark symbol, but once they are found they are very explanatory
and easy to understand. It also explains the reward system through the app. There

information and reviews about the app for parents to look at. The most important
part, I thought, was the option under settings to turn the timer on and off. This is
great for students in special education, because while some students should be
challenged, others learn best without time barriers.

app includes great design features. The app being free is great because no funds
are needed, and it can be downloaded on personal or school devices. Once the

back when the wrong answer is given by the monster angrily throwing the sushi

it comes to tracking students performance, a teacher could look at their score,
but it will not save once the app has been closed.

How do the design elements support or hinder learning of content?

The design definitely supports learning. It is engaging to younger students or students who are in special education
because of the monster and game element. This makes math fun while also challenging the student cognitively. The
layout is awesome and can be used on an ipad or phone. There are no ads or pop up information so the student would
not get distracted, and the horizontal view fits a good sized picture onto one page.

How does this application add value to the teaching/learning experience?


This app would be a huge help in a special education classroom because it provides modifications to students, since all
students have different goals. Through this app, a student could sit in the back of the room and get to a certain score
through addition practice without being a distraction to others. Students could all use this app at the same time and
practice math according to their learning level whether it is addition or multiplication as well. Teachers could walk
around and use the students score of the game as a benchmark to the standards.

answers relies on the ability to judge appropriateness, compare, estimate, and analyze error.

c) Students would finish a certain amount of addition or multiplication problems for a warmup before the class
started. This would get their mindset into the math mode before teaching them new material for the day. This could
be made into a competition by having the students compete for the best score, ultimately helping them get motivated to
participate.
