Assess prior knowledge by asking the class who ate something healthy today.

healthy or unhealthy.
Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):

On a whiteboard, I will make two columns. One column should be labeled 20 mins.
"healthy" and one column should be labeled "unhealthy." I will put a smiley face
next to the word healthy and a sad face next to the word unhealthy to help
students understand the chart.
Then, I will call students up one by one to select magazine cutouts of different
foods and decide whether they are healthy or unhealthy.
When they choose one, I will discuss with the class why they think that is
correct or incorrect. Then, I will help students tape them to the right side of the
chart.
I will continue until each student had a turn or until I have used all the pictures.
I will call students over to select a fruit that they would like to use to create a
healthy foods craft. I will give them the choice of either an apple, a banana, an
orange, or grapes.

corresponding color tissue paper.
