Mission Statement: Rise above is A Non-profit organization located in Los Angeles that provides
education to kids in impoverished neighborhoods so that they can use these skills to rise above
poverty.

Our company is funded by donation, we work to help provide educational needs and supplies in
improvised neighborhoods, study shows that kids who live in poverty lack education and have
more absences in school.according to the U.S department of education By the end of the 4th
grade, African-American, Hispanic and low-income students are already 2 years behind grade
level. By the time they reach the 12th grade they are 4 years behindOur main goal is We want to
help kids use the educational skills we teach them in schools and life to help rise above poverty.
Also we want to motivate these kids to show them how important education is and to not give up
on school.Rise above is A Non-profit organization In impoverished neighborhood in LA that
provides educational skills needed to rise above poverty.

Overview of issue: The problem of poverty is kids lack educational skills needed to needed to
provide them self with a brighter future. Children living in poverty have a higher number of
absenteeism or leave school all together because they are more likely to have to work or care for
family members(Broadhurst, Karen, Paton, Helen and May-Chahal Corinne 1). Also Children
that live below the poverty line are 1.3 times more likely to have developmental delays or
learning disabilities than those who dont live in poverty(Currie & Janet 1).

Action plan: Our short term plan is to get tutors to teach kids and get them all the way through
school. We are gonna hire tutors to teach kids of all ages in poverty to make sure that even if the
school does not provide it they get the education they deserve. Our long term plan with our
organization is to start a tutoring agency and spread across the cities with high poverty around
america. Helping all kids who need help to get them through school because education is the
future of our nation. We will benefit communities because these kids can grow up from poverty
and provide themselves a future so poverty drops and we clean up our streets and our future
generation can thrive. We will use a social media page on all the major ones with are tag being
rise above. We are gonna use social media to connect to the kids cause they are the group we are
trying to target and we want to spread our movement across america and social media is the best
way to spread the word. Our organization is different because all other tutoring agencies will
want money from the kids so they can't help the low impoverished ones we are asking for money
so we can offer the program for free to help kids in low poverty..

Financial Goals
We need to raise 10,000 to pay monthly rent for a office space in LA
We Need to 5000 to pay our tutors
We need to raise 50,000 to help purchase school supplies for kids
