1. What are classroom learning centers?

A space in the classroom that provides students the opportunity to work


independently or in groups. Students engage in activities such as, art, books,
blocks, and manipulatives.

2. What is the purpose of classroom learning centers?

The purpose of learning centers is the different areas where the students learn
various subjects by playing and engaging in activities, either independently or
cooperating with others. Learning centers allow the students to explore, express
themselves, self-motivate, role-play and socialize.

3. What is the role of the students while engaged during learning centers?

To either work independently or collaborate with their fellow classmates. The role
of the students is to explore, be independent, collaborate
4. What is the role of the teacher as the students are engaged during learning
centers?

The role of the teacher is to listen, observe the students, show what to when help is
needed and ask questions.

5. Do you feel it is important to offer tasks that are developmentally


appropriate for all student ability levels? Why / Why not?

Yes, I believe that its better for teachers to offer tasks that the students are capable
of handling. They can gradually move on to the next level once the task is easy for
them.
