1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 This Material Requisition (MR) defines the requirement of Distributed Control System
for control and monitoring of compressor which comes under LPG Lean gas project of
ONGC Hazira.
1.2 This MR also defines the responsibility and scope of the vendor in detail including the
integration of the system being supplied with the existing system. Vendor must quote
the lump sum price for the system as per Item summary.
1.3 Definitions
The following definitions shall apply for this document:
OWNER : Oil and Natural gas co. Ltd.
CONSULTANT : Engineers India Limited (EIL)
SITE : ONGC- HAZIRA, Gujarat (India)
1.4 ONGC intends to install an additional lean gas compressor in LPG unit; in addition
ONGC also desires to install an additional LPG column condenser and additional
Naphtha cooler in existing LPG Unit at HAZIRA plant.
It has been decided that the existing DCS system (ABB make) shall be augmented to
control and monitoring of off-skid instrumentation coming under New Lean Gas
compressor project for their HAZIRA Plant.
1.5 In general, Intrinsic Safety for all analog inputs (4-20 mA dc), analog outputs (4-20 mA
dc), suitable for Zone-1, Gas Groups IIA/IIB, T3 shall be provided.
Explosion proof hazardous area protection has been selected for all solenoid valves &
field switches.
1.6 Ambient Conditions: The site environmental conditions are as follows:
Maximum ambient temperature (Max./ Min) : 45/ 5 Degree C
Relative humidity (Max.) : 87% @ Normal temp.
Maximum recorded rainfall : 495.2 mm in 24 hour.
1.7 All works related to DCS, interface of new system hardware with existing system etc.
as required meeting the functional requirements of project and related facilities shall be
under vendors scope as a part of this Material Requisition. Accordingly addition/
modification/ up gradation of hardware/ software in the existing DCS required to
carry out complete work related to these systems and its hook up with field instruments
etc. shall be under vendors scope as a part of this MR.
1.8 Additional DCS hardware and software shall be supplied by vendor to cater the
additional I/Os of new facility.
1.9 The preliminary testing of the entire DCS shall be carried out by the DCS vendor before
connecting the system to field instrumentation. The termination of the cables in the
cabinets/racks, interconnections within the control room/ control station and integration
with existing system shall be carried out by DCS vendor.
1.10 This requisition consists of the following sections:-
