We value the support of all parents and guardians. If you feel you can help in any
way with the work we are covering this term, please contact me.

Homework will be set where appropriate. Children will have at least five days to
complete most work and I recommend they spend no longer than thirty minutes
working on the task. Spellings will be tested and set on Fridays. If there are any
problems or difficultiies, please contact me. Thank you.

Once again this term, children are being encouraged, where possible, to give
themselves at least 15 minutes per day to read their book (including Bug Club and
Accelerated Reader texts), recording in their planners what time they started and
finished, and how much they managed to read. Studies show that children who
read for 36-45 minutes per day make the most progress at school. Any assistance
and encouragement would be appreciated.

I would also recommend practising the 2-12 times tables at home, as this provides
a solid foundation for much of our mathematics work.

If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to pop in to class
before or after school for a quick chat or alternatively contact me to arrange a
mutually convenient appointment for more in depth discussions.
