FREE CLASSIFIED ADVERTISERS
Each month our office personnel receive several hundred phone calls
from readers wishing to submit classified ads for publication. While we are
always happy to accept ads (two per call) over the phone, we suggest to
our readers that submitting ads through the mail/email/fax offers less
possibility of error in typesetting your ads. As our Country Living dead-
line nears, our telephone lines are constantly busy, sometimes making it
necessary to put some callers on hold while other lines are answered.
Our staff makes every effort to ensure your ads are correctly worded
and the numbers are accurate. Of course, some errors are inevitable.
Sometimes our operators misunderstand what is said over the phone, or
ads are submitted in illegible handwriting, and yes... sometimes our type-
setters, being human, just plain make a mistake.
Again, if you wish to call our office to submit your ads, we will be
happy to help you. But, if time allows, its always better to submit a neat-

COMMERCIAL ADVERTISING is not acceptable for publication and the free classi-
fied ad copy submitted to us is carefully scrutinized to reject commercial ads. Our
commercial advertising rates are available on request. Among the types of ads fre-
quently submitted to us as free copy but rejected because they are commercial, are
the following: 1) Ads calling for the purchase, sale or rental of real estate; 2) Ads call-
ing for the sale or rental of mobile homes; 3) Ads calling for the sale of motor vehi-
cles less than seven years old. To control the volume of the free ads, we also have
found it necessary to automatically reject offers to give away, sell, trade or breed
pets. All of these types of ads are acceptable at commercial rates at 50 cents per
word.

Winning at Winners Meats!

This year the Ohio Association of Meat Processors Convention
was held the last weekend of February in Columbus. The Winners
family had the opportunity to attend meetings and classes where
meat processors mingle and discuss the latest changes and chal-
lenges in their industry. They met with many vendors to check out
the latest food processing equipment and products now available.
However, the favorite part of the weekend is the friendly prod-
uct competition held on Saturday, where meat processors from all
over the state of Ohio enter their finest homemade products.
Judges used various criteria such as appearance, aroma, texture
and, of course, taste to base their decisions on all of the anonymous
entries.
This year Robert Winner Sons, Inc., located at 45 W. Main St. in
Osgood (better known by meat lovers everywhere as Winners
Meats) took home FOUR Reserve Champion Awards for their Blue
Ribbon Bologna, Jalapeno Summer Sausage, Mild Sausage, and
Semi-Boneless Ham, and a First Place for their Rhine-Off Bacon.
They are certainly proud to add these to their wall of awards,
because Quality has been their first priority for four generations,
and thats what keeps them Winners! 4/17-3
