Mobile Learning Assignment, Design A Scavenger Hunt.

TOPIC: Behavior Vocabulary

Names: Kyana Takafuji and Erlinda Cruz
Grade Level: 8th grade
Now that you have explored and familiarized yourself with QR Codes, and determined what criteria are most important,
you will use that knowledge to develop an QR lesson for your students using QR codes.

Review: What criteria do you feel are most important when developing your scavenger hunt lesson?

1. Has a goal
2. Unrelated to grade
3. Engaging
4. Reward

Process: You will approach the development of your lesson as an instructional designer. You must think of your
objectives, correlating standards, TPACK, and more.

Respond to each prompt. You will submit this document in your goggle site or this document to submit on Canvas. Type
here then either attach it as a doc. On your new page or copy and paste to your site before your actual scavenger hunt
components.

1. On what content area and topic will you focus?

a. Math
2. On which standards will you focus?
a. Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and
mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.
3. Write an appropriate objective.
a. Students will solve math problems to get a number corresponding with a letter to find the missing word.

Basic elements:

A minimum of 10 questions or prompts (or equivalent) and 10 locations

Technology Integration Model.

Over this semester we have covered a few technology integration models. For this assignment, go back over the models
from this semester and pick one that you feel most comfortable with or you like best.

What model did you choose?

SAMR Model

Where does your QR hunt fit within the model?

Lesson Design

1. Create an outline, story board, or summary of your hunt idea(s). What will you use to create your lesson/hunt?
What are the themes or concepts? What do you hope the final product will look like? How will you assess, or how
will students show mastery
Students will use their knowledge of the Pythagorean theorem to solve the questions shown in the QR
code to discover the secret word. When class first starts the teacher will pass out a sheet of paper that
students will use to show their work for each equation and try to figure out the secret word. The QR codes
will be printed and numbered according to the order of the letter for the secret word. This way students
may go to whichever QR code they want after they read the first QR code that lists the rules of the
scavenger hunt. The goal is to figure what the secret word is while demonstrating his/her knowledge of
the Pythagorean theorem. Students who dont show their work will not be get a prize even if they have
guessed the secret word.

Please put your QR codes here with any additional information (IE worksheets with hunt, rubrics,
etc)
