1.Philosophyofeducationstatement

When writing your educational philosophy statement, write responses to the questions and then synthesize
that into your philosophy statement. Note each point starts with a general thought and then a personal
statement.

What do you think is (are) the larger goals of education for society? What is (are) your overall goal(s) in
your classroom

Answer: The larger goals of education for society is teach students how to fully think and make decisions on
their own. Personally, I want to teach children how to love and respect one another as people. I believe in
teaching a kid how to effectively establish a positive relationship with another person as well as the content
I am teaching.

What qualities do you think make an effective teacher? Why do you think will you be an effective teacher
(what are your strong qualities)?

Answer: Loving, Respectful and Respected, Humble, Accountable, Loyal. I am respectful, strong willed,
and loving.

How do you believe children learn the best? What knowledge and experiences support your ideas about
how children learn best?

Answer: I believe children learn the best when they believe the teacher cares more about the student than
the content. I see my CI do this every day, and I know for a fact that the students are learning.

What is your definition of classroom management?

Answer: Classroom management is effectively controlling the environment of the classroom to create the best
learning environment possible for the student.

Describe the goals and importance of classroom management. What are your goals?

Answer: Goals (as well as my goals):

A. Love for the person next to you

B. Respect for the teacher as well as the student

C. Accountability when mistakes are made as well as when goals are reached

D. Attentiveness towards the little things

Answer: Relaxed environment within the classroom. Picking your Battles Approach. Kagan
Grouping Structure.

4. Expert advice: Which classroom management/behavior expert or experts do you agree with and briefly
describe how you have and will incorporate their ideas in your classroom. You can choose style drawn from more
than 1 expert.

Answer: Personally, I am really into Kagan and his many structures. I especially love his grouping method, and
we use it in our classroom now. I believe placing a high performing kid with 2 average kids and a low kid allows
for leadership roles for the high performing student as well as place the low students in a positive situation to
learn from their peers.
