Overview of Issue: In 2012 Flint's government started looking for cheaper water near them to
help save money. They thought that it would be fine with switching to the Flint River, but they
made a mistake. When the water turned up toxic, instead of treating it, they waited to see if it
would get better soon (npr.org). The water didn't get better, and now that they waited so long to
change back to the Detroit river water, the pipes are corroded. The people of flint do not have
clean running water and the filters they have do not work well (npr.org). The people of flint can
not have a healthy life style with clean water now because of what happened. People in Flint
have been poisoned by the water. About 99,000 residents of Flint have been exposed to high
levels of lead and E. Coli, including elders and children (Roy). Children are still developing and
the lead, which causes high blood levels, will stunt the children physically and mentally (Roy).
They will have to live with possible long term side effects such as an increase in violent behavior
and lower IQ scores (Roy). Kids are also an easy target for an E. Coli infection and to avoid that
government officials suggested residents to boil their water but it only made it worse (Rosner).

Mission Statement: "Bringing water, supplying filters, and raising money from recycled bottles
for the people of Flint, Michigan."

Philosophy: Our goal as an organization is to show the suffering victims of the water crisis that
they are not alone in this. Our company, Flint Water Crisis Aid, is made to support and care to the
needs of the people in Flint, Michigan who are suffering from lead poisoning in their running
water. We have seen the results of the poison that is flowing through their pipes and just seeing
that makes it hard to just sit there and do nothing. It makes it even harder that they are people
right here in our own country. To help them, we have created a system to obtain money from
recycled bottles people donate and use the money to buy filters and gallons of clean water as
temporary solutions until the government finds a permanent one. All around the world people are
living without clean water and its awful. Usually Americans don't think things like this would
hit so close to home. We do what we do because no American should have to go through this. No
human should have to go through this, but we have to start at home to make a big change. The
government shouldve been doing more, but until they do, easing the pain and struggle of the
people in Flint to find clean water is all we can do.

Action Plan: The short term plan is to obviously help and continue expanding the word out to
people, people that are oblivious to the issues that take place in our very country while they live
their normal everyday life complaining when they don't have wifi. The residents of Flint are
needing clean water and here we are 'struggling' about our 1st world problems. All of our short
term goals of smaller fundraisers, water drives, volunteering, money donations etc., are
ultimately to raise enough money to create a long-term facility for water issues all around the
world. Our goal is to grow as a non-profit organization and conquer this issue in Flint, therefore
allowing us to not only get rid of the crisis in Flint but receive enough money to open up our
organization to worldwide. Many of the revile non-profit organization, for example, Greater Flint
Arts Council organization and the Flint River Watershed Coalition organization, don't offer a
future goal. Yes, they are helping so so much, and creating a difference. Yet, what will they do
after we take down this situation in Flint... nothing. We offer worldwide difference making,
saving one life at a time and creating one more person to drink clean water. The water is about
71% of Earth's surface and 68% of that is fresh water found mostly in ice caps, glaciers, and
underground. There is enough to go around but here we are in California taking 45 min showers
not allowing this to happen. The problem is these countries don't have access to water. Our
organization is going to be making access to portable drinking water. We are determined to stay
true to our word and take action in this issue of clean water!

Financial Need: In order to build this organization and meet our goal, we would need financial
help. To assist the residents of Flint, we would be sending a Whole House Filter System, 20 pack
Arrowhead water, and Testing Kits to places like schools, church's, daycares, community
buildings and elderly homes that have been affected by the Flint Water Crisis. In the future, if we
have prosperous results, we will expand the amount of consumers being helped. With the
funding, we will be able to make a difference and provide aid for the community that is
suffering. The total cost of all the products combined and the mailing system:
