Student M-F Dakota Prairie I was in a first grade classroom with 19


Teaching 8am-4pm Elementary students. I slowly began to take subjects and
(Spring 2017) School, activities over week by week until having full

ECE 495: 75 Hours Dakota Prairie I was placed in a Kindergarten classroom


Kindergarten Elementary where I attended all times of the day. I
Practicum School, worked one on one, in small groups, and
(Fall 2016) Brookings, SD. gave whole group instruction to students. I
helped prepare lessons and materials for the
teacher along with planning and carryout
lessons I had prepared.

ELED 495: 35 Hours Hillcrest I was in a first grade classroom and attended
Pre-Student Elementary mostly during the morning hours during
Teaching School, reading, math, and handwriting. I worked
Practicum Brookings, SD. one on one with students along with small
(Fall 2016) group instruction. I also read numerous big
books to the large group.

ELED 396: I was in a third grade classroom and


Junior Field 35 hours Dakota Prairie attended various days throughout the week
Experience Elementary at different times in order to observe the full
(Spring 2016) School, schedule. I worked one on one with
Brookings, SD. students during work times, assisted the
students and teacher when needed. I taught
two lessons (one reading, one math). One of
the lessons can be found on my portfolio.

ELED 450: I was placed in a first grade classroom in


Reading 8 hours per Dakota Prairie order to be in the classroom more, I was

student whom I met with each week. I

records. I also worked with the student in
guided writing lessons.

ECE 488: I worked with 17 children whom were 3 & 4


Student 16 hours a SDSU Fishback in the afternoons. I interacted with the
Teaching week Center for Early children during group time, free play, and
(Preschool Childhood during small groups. I created lessons for
Fall 2015) Education, numerous areas including block area,
Brookings, SD. science table, art table, sensory table, art
easel, dramatic play, book and reading area,
computers and listening station, light table,
and group times. I worked with diverse
children including English language learners
and children with special needs. I lead a
small group with 5 children in inquiry based
learning and created a documentation panel
showcasing what my group discovered.

EPSY 302: I assisted in a 5th grade math classroom. I


Educational 15 hours Camelot observed the teacher during lessons and
Psychology Intermediate interactions with students. I assisted
(Spring 2015) School, students when needed during work time. I
Brookings, SD. observed the same lesson as the students
rotated throughout the day.

ECE 371: 15 hours Peace Lutheran I was placed into mobile infants where I
Infant and Church & Early helped feed children and put them to sleep.
Toddler Childhood I was in the toddler room where I played
(Spring 2015) Center, with children in the classroom and at recess.
Brookings, SD I spent most of my time in the young
infants room where I helped with feeding
and changing schedules along with playing
with the babies when needed.

ECE 328: I was in the 3 and 4 year old preschool


Guidance 7 hours per SDSU Fishback afternoon lab. I was an assistant teacher and
with young week Center for Early was in the classroom 3.5 hours a day 2 times
children Childhood a week. We had 14 children that were in this
(Fall 2014) Education age group. This classroom had with different
languages and religions present. We also
had some children whom needed special
attention and guidance. I assisted the
student teachers along with the mentor
teachers with activities and centers
throughout the day. During large group I
would partake in the activities that the
student teacher led while keeping the
children on task. During small group I helped
my small group with their building
investigation throughout the semester.
Through my methods classes my group and I
were able to plan different lessons that we
implemented in the classroom. We
implemented our lessons at the literacy
center, block area, and science table. We
took detailed notes and observations and
reflected as a group on our lessons.

EDFN 475:
Human 15 hours Hillcrest I was in a kindergarten classroom with 18
Relations Elementary students. I came into the classroom in the
(Spring 2014) School, morning. I observed the morning message
Brookings, SD routine and then moved into English small
groups. I would run a small group center
with an activity that the teacher had
prepared with writing or have students read
aloud to me. I also observed small groups
during math and would move around the
classroom and help individuals who needed
it.

ECE 150: I was assigned to different parts of the


Early 7 hours Childrens museum throughout the day. I began by
Experience Museum, helping in the upstairs rooms with small
(Spring 2014) Brookings, SD groups doing activities such as drawing,
making beads, and having puppet shows. I
spent most of the time on the floor of the
museum interacting and helping children
with the exhibits. The ages varied from
children who were in strollers up to middle
school age.

ECE 150: I was in a first grade classroom with 12


Early 8 hours Hillcrest students. I came to the classroom for one
Experience Elementary, full day. I observed the teacher, lessons, and
(Spring 2014) Brookings, SD interactions with students. During math and
reading I interacted with students assisting
them in assignments.
