Learning Story #1
She looked up at me and gave her big classic smile. She asked, What does this
say? The letters read D, r, o, L, F. I looked over, read each letter, and said,
Hm that says Drolf. She smiled and added another letter, the letter M for her
name. She asked again, what does this say? She continued this pattern of adding
a letter and asking me to read it to her until the list was D, r, o, L, F, M, N, C,
P.

Maida Is recognizing that letters form words, which we

are able to read from left to right.
Learning Story #2
Maida took over our one-on-one reading of animal book If
Youre Happy and You Know It. She read the story through the
pictures and memory while also acting out the actions from
each page.
