Magazine Edit Log

First, I went to rectangle frame tool. Using this tool, I made a box the size of the page on the
top of the page. Then, I went to the file and place which brought up the box to search my
files and find m photo that I wanted to fill the page with. I used this bright photo that I edited
and moved it around to make it the right size and so that there are gaps around the edge.

Next I created a box that will be used for the skyline. I used the rectangle tool on the left and
filled it with the colour pink. I did this as it is one of the colours from my colour scheme and
then I made it transparent slightly to make it look more professional and unique. I did this at
the top with a small slider and reduced the opacity making it more see through.
Next, I added the masthead. I clicked on the text tool at the side which then allowed me to
drag a box and place it where I want it on the front of my magazine. Then, because my
colour scheme is blue I used the colour picker the same as for the box I created for the
skyline which is on the left hand side and picked a blue colour. Then, I put a black outline on
the letters to make them bolder.

I decided to make the colour blue on the masthead lighter which made it brighter and stands
out more from the green background.
Then, I made boxes and added text exactly the same way as I did above, just resized them
differently and added the text as cover lines. I added the text The best revision techniques
and Essential apps to help you through college as information that will be inside of the
magazine. These are things that are likely to appeal to students and therefore read the
magazine. I have done this, adding more text and boxes each time. The font I have used on
the cover line boxes is Beatnick SF Bold and I have kept to the pink and blue theme
throughout.

Again I mainly added a lot of text. I first added Win an iPad at the top, as this entices
students into the magazine, especially as it is right next to the masthead. I added one more
cover line with the same colour scheme, and then I added anchorage. I used the font
Beatnick the same as the cover lines for new and activities but then for enrichment, I used
the font Chanson Heavy SF to make it bold and stand out. I also made this text white as it
contrasts from the blue jumper. Then, below the masthead I added Issue 1, Free in
Beatnick font again and used black and white to differentiate between the two pieces of
information. Finally, I resized a barcode and made it small enough to fit onto the corner of
the magazine below all of the text just to make it seem more professional.
