moves and discourses that show up in my paper. In exercise is medicine I think there are a bunch
of different external influences on people that make them think who they are is not good enough
or tell them they are worthless in todays society. I think you can trace a plethora of different
external influences that impact the way you are, how you end up discovering who you are today,
I think the different discourses you are in influence you in big ways because the
discourses you are apart of act and talk the way you do. One big external influence can be traced
to your parents because they are the ones teaching you what to do in life and your parents are
who you are around all the time at a developing age. The second big external influence can be
connected to the group of friends you hang out with growing up because the way they act and the
way they talk are going to be very similar to how you do these things. The discourses you are in
will directly influence the decision-making and the way you act will be directly attributed to
what kind of discourse you are in, like the time when I was about five or six years old with my
mom and grandparents. I would call this my primary discourse because my grandparents and my
mom were the ones influencing my life at the time. My mom and my dad got divorced at a young
age so that is the reason my grandparents and mom were my primary discourse. Ever since those
few years my mom was unmarried and I have always strived to please her because she strived to
get us what we wanted even though she was the only one supporting my brother and me.

Not all external influences are benevolent influences. Many influences can be hurtful like
when I was listening to Story Corps and heard about the story of the garbage man/pastor. The
garbage man/pastor had received a concerned look from a parent when a child waved at the
garbage man and he waved back. It shows that someone's negative influence is making the kid
think that being a garbage man is seen as being inferior to other jobs and not wanting the kid to
not have that low life job. The second example of a negative influence shown by the married
couple and how before they were married the husband lost his son's life. The husband says when
her first gazed upon his soon to be wife preaching one day and when he told her about what had
happened to his son that devastated his life, he started to feel better about what had happened. He
says when they are together he has a way to cope with his son's death. The influences I was
listening to were very surprising to me because these types of external influences did not come to
mind when thinking of different types of influences in peoples lives. It did not come to my mind
In the exercise is medicine I needed to learn how to suspend my judgement on the case
of how exercise can be like medicine in many ways. Instead of just saying that these different
exercises help with certain medical problems, I should put more quotes showing evidence of how
exercise really helps. If I put more of these quotes into my paper it will show that with proof of
statistics that exercise could really act as medicine. I have been fit most of my life and really
have not had any medical problems so I need to not put my input into how exercise is a medical
solution and put more facts and statistics showing how exercise could be a medical solution. In
the exercise is medicine paper it had been broken up into two significant groups and the two
groups are: how exercise can help with mental problems and how exercise can help with physical
problems. The ways these two are connected to each other is that exercise in both of these groups

shows that exercise helps the patients as if it was medicine that is treating them. In exercise is
medicine I suggested that exercise could be a replacement for medicine and when I did this I
backed these statements with quotes from reliable websites and one quote from a reliable website
was: They feel more energetic throughout the day, sleep better at night, have sharper memories,
and feel more relaxed and positive about themselves and their lives. And exercise converts a
powerful medicine for many common mental health challenges. (Robinson 1). The patterns I
see in this paper are the quotes and the explanation of the quote like On this website, it is telling
you that people who tend to exercise act in this way and how exercise improves their life.
(Chase 3). The quote from my paper was explaining the quote that is just above this one and
what you see there shows the type of patterns I see in my paper.
I have a few questions to ask about this paper that might give more information in my
paper. How often do these people need to work out to start feeling better about themselves? Will
exercise help everyone that has a health problem in their life or will it only be able to help a few
people that try this out? In my paper, I illustrate a lot of places where I made implicit/explicit
examples because you would say how exercise could help you then would proceed to show
quotes that back this and explain the quote after. The best thing in this paper was the pattern of
the quotes and the explanation after the quotes because you need specific details to be able to
back up what you are saying and so you do not lose the reader and the reader does not believe in
what you are saying. The point of my paper would have failed if I did not provide specific
details.
