open propeller and azimuth thruster with nozzle in open water." Ocean Engineering 120

This article discusses an important phenomenon to consider when designing a propeller

called cavitation. This phenomenon affects not only the performance of the propeller

itself but also the life of the propeller and efficiency of the ship. The information

provided in this article is relevant for my research paper because cavitation affects the

durability and overall performance of a propeller.

geometry using streamline-adapted blade sections." Journal of Marine Science and

Technology 14.2 (2008): 161-70. Academic Search Complete. Web. 20 Mar. 2017.

This article explains the techniques used to design a propeller. This information is

relevant to my topic because a design is an important phase of the production of a

propeller.

This article discusses the methods used in research to predict the performance of ducted

or nozzle propeller and its advantages. Before the manufacture of propellers, a rigorous

study is conducted to determine efficiency and performance of a model.

This article provides criteria used to select propeller for different types of ship. It is

important to choose the right propeller to produce maximum efficiency and reduce costs

and CO2 emissions.

In this article, the authors talk about how a propeller used on a ship may affect fuel and

lubrication consumption, and carbon dioxide emissions. It is important for my research

paper because one of the challenges in the of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering

is to minimize CO2 emissions and reduce costs.
