NRGZone
NRGZone is one of the most innovative products to appear in the heating sector for many
years. At first glance the unit looks like many other manifold type products that already exist in
the marketplace and may seem to act simply as a form of extended "low loss header" but that
is certainly not the case.
The product is available in many different forms and the standard unit comes complete with;
flow connections, boiler return connections and zone return connections at either side of the
unit and a multiplicity of flow return zone connections underneath in a logical, consecutive
order.
In normal usage, a designer or installer will allow for heating equipment to be connected to the
side connections where, for example, conventional high temperature equipment returns would
be connected to the high temperature return and low temperature equipment returns such as
condensing boilers or heat pumps would be connected to the lower side connections. In this
way each appliance can draw the optimum temperature level to suit their efficiency from the
manifold with a simple flow return arrangement to minimise the fuel usage of the equipment.
If two or more different high-efficiency appliances are to be attached then a variety of
pipework configurations are useful many of which are explained on the company's web site
along with video tutorials explaining how simply and comprehensively the various systems
can be configured. With NRGZone you can predict how well the system will work in advance.
Page 4 to Page 25
NRG Link
NRG Link is the only procurable Sealed to Open System Interlinking device that complies with
all regulations and guidelines to interlink solid fuel open and sealed heating systems in a very
safe and efficient way.
The NRG Link allows for a solid fuel central heating cooker or stove to be linked to a sealed
heating system in retrofit or new-build situations. It includes for an open gravity circuit with
standard safety facilities such as an open vent and cold feed facility that must be connected to
a heat leak medium to comply with all manufacturers guidelines and regulatory conditions.
Interconnection type systems have always been an attractive idea to homeowners but
likewise dual systems were always been troublesome for installers to get the link-up right.
For that reason, interlinking systems was generally seen as a specialist activity that should
only be undertaken by qualified and experienced heating engineers as incorrect designs can
be expensive to run and could well be very dangerous for the occupants.
The NRG Link greatly simplifies the whole process and when installed according to very
simple instructions it makes the system completely safe and very cost-effective.

NRGLex & Control Panel Solutions
NRGLex is a standalone electronic wiring centre suitable for all types of wet central heating
systems Time & Temperature controls. The pre-configured Printed Circuit Board allows for an
uncomplicated connection to the controls (clocks and thermostats), pumps and boilers
together in a logical and structured way.
The built-in LED's on the PCB show which elements are operating and make fault diagnosis
easy. The NRGLex is designed to handle all the complex cross wiring for the installer - all that
is left is to connect the system elements directly to the board in accordance to the clear
instructions and the system is ready to go.
The unit is housed is a neat wiring enclosure with visible operational and fault-finding LED
indicators available even when the unit is sealed shut.
NRGLex units can be easily used together to configure more complex wiring solutions.

HEATING SOLUTIONS YOU CAN TRUST

NRGZone is a rapid Heating System design & construction method

available with total flexibility to Incorporate all types of heating
equipment, designed for complete reliability and ultimate energy
and cost effectiveness in any new-build or retrofit heating project.

The system's uniquely patented features are well proven and

comply with good practice and effective design technologies from
standard system configurations throughout the heating industry.

NRGZone products are totally versatile allowing for safe and

efficient system construction using oil, gas, solid fuel and
renewable energy sources such as heat pumps as well as CHP
equipment.

NRG-Link is a very simple, yet highly effective system inter-linking

solution from NRG Awareness, used to interconnect open solid
fuel systems to sealed heating systems in a patented and uniquely
safe way.

NRG Link provides for an unobstructed gravity heat leak circuit

from a solid fuel appliance that incorporates an open expansion
and cold feed. It is designed to transfer the heat from the solid fuel
appliance into the sealed system. The unit is completely insulated
with a built-in plate heat exchanger, pre-wired primary & secondary
side pumps which are controlled by an integral thermostat.

NRG Link is compliant with all solid fuel regulations with flow &
return connections for the solid fuel appliance, a heat leak circuit
and an efficient heat transfer medium to the sealed system.

NRGLex is one of the simplest system wiring centres on the market

with unique user friendly features including:

Independent time & temperature zone wiring facility, Built-in LED

indication for power supply and zone call, a frost protection circuit
with automatic boiler call on zone demand.

The unit incorporates frost stat connections and a double pole

auxiliary relay with 4 isolated input to cater for the many what-if
scenarios that regularly arise during heating controls installations.

The following zone configurations are for standard applica-
tions. Alternative layouts for differing applications can be
found on our website, www.nrgawareness.com.

Any Zone Flow may Return to any other Return port. E
Zone pumps are best installed on the flow connections C D
A1, B1, C1 and so on.
Non-return valves are fitted on each zone return, A2, B2,
C2, and so on to prevent any inadvertent heat drift in B
zones that are not calling for heat.
B
For pumped DHW zones; a non-return valve should be
fitted to the flow input to the cylinder coil to prevent NRG ZONE 4
gravity-fed back feeding of the stored hot water.

Installing an NRGZone is a much simpler process than any other neutraliser

on the market because of the logical and simple consecutive placement of
the various Flow & Return connections.

NRGZone does not rely on standard stratification like other manifolds as

each chamber is designed to handle different water flow temperatures.
