Civilizations, the Expansion and Interaction of Civilizations, the Early Modern Period, the World in the 19 th century and
the World in the Contemporary Ear up to and including World War II. This course is part I of the World Studies

Expectations and Goals

At FCHS, everyone has the right to learn and no one has the right to interfere, everyones dignity, welfare, and
material possessions should be respected, and everyone is expected to attend all scheduled classes.
I will NOT tolerate hate talk, bullying, harassment, etc. in my classroom, and there will be no warnings given, but the
offending student will be asked to leave class. The expectation is that everyone deserves the right to be treated fairly,
respectfully, and kindly as a person.
Phones: phones are permitted in class when specified by the instructor. For the most part, the instructor does not want
phones interfering with the learning of the individual, or other students around them. A warning will be given, and if a
student repeats the offense, the phone will be taken for the duration of the class, and returned to the student after.
Late Work: I will allow a 24-hour grace period on assignments, but will be graded down 10%.
Extra Credit: There will be multiple times throughout the year that the instructor will provide the opportunity for extra
credit. There are no limits to extra credit.
Absences: If a student is absent, they are to consult Edmodo, the online classroom platform the class will be using for
the year. On Edmodo, there will be instructions for every assignment. If the student is unclear about assignment
expectations, they may consult the instructor.
Academic Integrity: Students are expected to adhere to FCHSs student Conduct Code and policy on academic integrity,
as indicated in the policy portion of every student planner. Students are advised to be aware that plagiarism and misuse
of technology are included in FCHSs definition of academic dishonesty. Academic dishonesty may include incidents for
which there is no intent to cheat, but are outside the domain of responsible, honest, and acceptable academic work.
