injured because of gun violence. Then the article talks about how Americans often look

over the seriousness of gun violence. The article ends by using facts about gun violence

to show how many people are affected by it.

Leonard starts the article by discussing the new stance that the AMA (American Medical

Association) now supports gun control. She then shares a quote from the president of this

She concludes the article by discussing how congress refuses to provide funding for

studies involving gun violence.

In the beginning of the article, the new law that allows citizens to obtain a gun without a

permit was just passed, is discussed, even after the mass shooting in Charleston. After

that the new laws in Vermont are brought up. These laws however are more geared

towards protecting the public from gun violence.

This article does not discuss gun violence directly but instead focuses on the use of

silencers. The NRA (National Rifle Association) is now making it easier for people to get

their hands on silencers. The article talks about how this will make police work extra

hard, considering that gunshots are an easy way to track where crimes occur.

This article talks about how mental illnesses are a big contributor to gun violence. Not

only does it say that mentally ill people should not be able to get their hands on a gun, it

also talks about making it harder for people to obtain a fire arm for even having signs that

they might be mentally ill.
