We are in the 21st century and many thing change. Genocide is one thing that
never change. It is still happening pretty much all over the world. It is a shame that the world let
genocide continue. We never learn from history . We learn the horrible of genocide from
Holocaust and though it will be the last but many genocides happen after that and many still
happening today.
The UN who mission is to stop genocide but it failed as we can see it in Rwanda and
Bosnia. UN is make up of difference country and the disagreement and divide group make it hard
for them to work together. Many country does not want to send their troops to fight with UN
forces. For example, in Rwanda only Belgium sent it troops and the force was not strong enough
to stop the fighting between Hutu and Titus. The mission failed horribly .
The main country that do not Get alone in the UN is American and Russia. Russia and US
are probably two of the stronger and most powerful nation. They want to difference thing. Russia
does not really care about genocide. They even committed it themselves by trying to take over
Ukraine. Russia is doing thing it way and not really working with the UN or US. Cold War never
really end it is still happening until today. The UN and the world would not be wrong if they
blame US and Russia for letting genocide happening. Russia and US have most power in the UN
genocide since many do not know about it. The Karen people are one of the many ethinic
minority in Burma. They live in amidst ruby mines and valuable teak forests in Burma. Karen
National Liberation Army has fought a desperate war against the military junta. It is 7000 ill-
equipped men resist against over 100,00 Burmese soilders, a one-sided fight. It is a war forgotten
by all. Civil war in Burma started after Burma gain independce from Britian in 1948 and it is the
world longest civil war. The Burmese army focuses attacts on civilians. Soilders loot, rape,
execute, torture and burn the whole village. There are more than 300,000 Karen refugees in the
mountais on Thai border.. No humanitarian organization is allowed in the region and Thai boder
police does the best as it can to stop them from crossing the border. The world just watch and did
Another country still genocide is is Sudan. In the year 2015 marks , Sudans President
Omar al-Bashir and his militia have caused more bloodshed in Darfur. The genocidal war that
has already claimed the lives of some 400,000 people, and displaced nearly three million, is
witnessing a new and devastating stage. the United Nations and African Union Mission in Darfur
(Unamid) have failed miserably to protect them. With international bodies turning away, and
rebel groups elsewhere, the Janjaweed have moved in for the kill. But there are economic factors
at play too. Sudan lost 75% of its oil revenue after the separation of South Sudan, and is
suffering enormous economic difficulties. Rich in oil, gold and minerals, Darfur presents an
opportunity to Bashirs government who are keen to empty these resources. The UN failed again
Acting too slow let Genocide rise too. ISIS could be stopped before it became powerful.
The World just watched as it murder people and does nothing about it. The world act too slow
and ISIS already kills thousands and took many territory. The World fiannly act but it was harder
to stop them. Untied Nations need to response thing fatter in order to stop genocide,. United
Nations is too weat and it need get have more power in order to reduce or stop genocide.
Genocide happen in less devolved country with many difference ethnics and religions.
The people where genocide occur are poor and powerless. They cannot do or fight against it. The
people need to be educated and fight back in non violence way. The world need to know more
about it and the world need to put more pressure on genocide countries. Since genpcide is cause
by the government it is hard to stop from inside so outsider need to step in to stop it.
