Plasma Transferred Arc System (PTA) is a high energy, inert gas welding process. Argon is used for arc plasma
supply, powder transport and molten material shielding. It produces a very high quality deposit offering optimal
protection with minimal dilution or deformation of the base material. It is a process that deposits very precise
coatings of perfectly controlled alloys on mechnical parts that are subject to intense wear, significantly
extending their service life. PTA technology is particularly effective in protectin against corrosion, thermal
shock and abrasion. A wide range of overlay alloys is available for practically any part. Some alloys are
very hard, others are softer with abrasion-resistant particles dispersed in a matrix. Certain alloys are made
to rebuild apart to a required dimension while others are designed to be a final overlay that protects the

MMS provides re-engineering and manufacturing for valves and components from all turbine
manufacturers. We can upgrade design flaws and incorporate upgraded materials. The result is longer
service life and less maintenance expense. With many years of in-house engineering experience and
a vast parts database, MMS is your best source for valve components. We offer inspection, repair,
restoration and upgrades for many types of valves: main-stop, reheat, intercept, control and governor.

Reverse engineering is a dedicated and
precise process that Megawatt Machine
Services uses to create a 3-Dimensional
surface drawing or solid model of an existing
part. These drawings can then be used
to modify the existing part or to machine a
new one exactly to OEM specs. The data
collection process is accomplished by
