Does it taste that good?

At first I was going to do my proposal over should teens have to obtain contraceptives

without parental consent, but now I have shifted my gears to a totally different topic. My proposal

is going to be over the effect of pop on the body and that we should spread the word of these

effects.

Ericson, J. (2016, June 20). This Is What Happens To Your Body When You Drink Soda.

Retrieved March 23, 2017, from http://www.medicaldaily.com/what-happens-your-body-

when-you-drink-soda-sugar-affects-brain-heart-lungs-and-271193

This is a website that talks about what the sugars in the caffeinated drink a person

would drink and what it does to your body. It affects the body with the brain, heart, lungs

and teeth. This resource only discusses the effect of the sugar that is in pop not the

chemicals or all the other unhealthy things that are in pop itself. Just one can of pop is

100% of the sugar a person is supposed to have in one day. This resource also has a video

I may reference in my proposal. This resource goes more in depth on what the sugar does

to your body. We wouldn't really think this is an issue but it really is. The sugar that we

consume is worse because it makes our liver give our more of its sugar (insulin) to

compensate.

This article is over a science experiment. This author/scientist goes over the experiment

that had control groups of rats that the gave in group A.) pop B.) partial pop/ water C.)

straight water. For thirty days. It show that the rat that drank pop had a significant

difference in their kidneys. That is just in 30 days. Imagine what the human body effects

over years of consumption. I'm not saying that rats are human but if that can affects them

just in 30 day then i'm scared for my body.

I really like this resource because it goes over the history of soda/pop, what is put in

soda/pop, and how soda/pop is made. I think this give a lot of insight into the soft drink

industry. Which will be very beneficial for my essay, because I don't need to know just

how it affects the body but where is comes from and what had happened over the years on

the changes of soda.

Mama, K. -. (n.d.). Ten Reasons to Avoid Soda | Wellness Mama. Retrieved March 26,

2017, from https://wellnessmama.com/379/reasons-to-avoid-soda/

This website states that americans drink about 56 Gallons of soda per year. Thats a

lot of soda. It also has its reason on why soda is bad for you. 1. The sugar. 2.phosphoric

acid 3.artificial sweetener 4.caffeine 5.The water 6.obesity. 7.Extra fructose 8.lack of

nutrients 9.dehydration 10.bad for teeth. Yes most of this stuff is said in the resources

above but see the same thing makes it know what is said in these articles are true. The

stuff that is in soda is harmful it affects the body in so many harmful ways that we do not

have any real justification for it.

I really like this source because it goes over a lot of different resources and compares

them. 88 to be exact. It discusses a lot of what pop effects not just one side of it. It talks

about the sugar high we get from pop, the way pop contributes to weight issue, and the

nutritional value that is take from people who drink pop.

People Drink Soda & Why To Stop Its Drinking. EMedExpert.com, 2009. Web. 26 Mar.

2017. <http://www.emedexpert.com/tips/soft-drinks.shtml>.

This resource goes over why we drink pop and why we should stop. I will definitely be

using this resource considering it goes over a lot of stuff I will be talking about. It has 8
Gilbert 4

reasons why we drink pop and 16 why we should stop. Why people drink soda; 1. Its very

tasty. 2.It's everywhere. 3. Convenient 4.Promotion and Advertising. 5. Habits. 6. Its

cheap, 7.Thirsty. 8. Caffeine addiction. Why people should stop drinking pop; 1. Soda is

useless. 2. Weight gain and obesity. 3. Diabetes. 4. Weakens bone. 5. Dental problems.

6.Kidney Damage. 7. increased Blood pressure. 8. Heartburn. 9.metabolic syndrome risk

factor. 10. Harmful effects of the liver. 11, impaired digestive system 12. Dehydration. 13.

High caffeine content. 14. Toxins, 15. Cell damage 16, other harmful effects.

I'm really excited to write this paper and discuss how harmful soda is for the body. We aren't

really informed on how bad it is. If i knew this when I was younger just like I was taught about

smoking then I definitely wouldn't be drinking it as much as I do now. I'm already addicted how

can i stop now?
