1. What requirements must you meet in order to study abroad? (i.e. GPA, etc.)
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 for semester or year-long programs. Cumulative GPA of

2.50 for summer programs. Must have at least sophomore standing during term

abroad.
2. What are the three (3) different types of study abroad programs available to

students?
Exchange provides students an affordable way to participate in study abroad.
Direct Study Abroad program is administered by an organization offering study
abroad support services (i.e. School for International Training (SIT); American
Institute for Foreign Studies (AIFS); International Studies Abroad (ISA). Faculty-Led -
programs that are organized and/or accompanied by an NCAT faculty member,
usually during the summer.

3. What are the deadlines for applying for study abroad?


The Spring deadline is due on October 14. The Summer deadline is due on March

15.
The Fall deadline is due on March 15.

4. What are three different ways that you can raise money to fund your trip?
Start a fund raiser to help fund your trip. Try to sell candy to help fund your trip.
Find a job that pays good, works well with your schedule, and close to your school.

5. Name two (2) scholarships that can fund you for your trip and how you meet the

requirements?
AIFS NAFEO Scholarship because it helps pay half of the trip and I attend NC A&T

which is a HBCU. Bridging Scholarships for Study in Japan because I am an

Undergraduate Student to study abroad for a year.


6. Where would you like to travel to for your study abroad experience and why?
DeQuan Thomas-Harrington
I would like to travel to Japan for my abroad experience. Not only learning the
Japanese language but I want to learn the culture. In Japan, the people are very
traditional that goes into their deep roots that is still use in their today.

7. Does A&T offer this as an option? If not, then what would be your second choice

destination?
A&T does offer studying Japan as an option and I would love to take the

opportunity to travel outside the United States. I feel that I will need to get out of

my comfort zone in order for to understand the difference between America and

Japan.
