The electoral college has become very controversial especially because of the recent
election we just had in November. Many are arguing that since Donald Trump didnt win
the popular vote he should not have been able to be elected president. However, as this
article states the electoral college has been around since the beginning of elections and
there has been no problems with it until now. The reason we have the electoral college is
so that the big states do not control all the power. They decided a long time ago that the
only way to make the election fair was to spread the decision evenly among all of the
states. I think that this a great way to make sure everyone in the country is being heard.
Not just the big states like California and New York. This a great way to make sure we
are having fair elections.

The electoral college is a flawed system that doesnt take into consideration the mass
majority of the population. If you win the popular vote and get the most votes out of
everybody, you should be the one who is elected into office. The electoral college has
been around for too long, and its time we make something more up to date that will be
more fair during the elections. I dont think the popular vote gives too much power to the
bigger states, it just means that more people like that particular candidate.
