Joint Statement Of Support For Congresswoman Elise Stefanik

Malone Today, Clinton County GOP Chairman Don McBrayer, Essex County GOP
Chairman Shaun Gillilland and Franklin County GOP Chairman Ray Scollin released
the following joint statement regarding Congresswoman Elise Stefanik:

In her 2016 election for a second term, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik received
65% of the votes cast.

For a reason. Smart, dedicated to NY21, willing to reach across the aisle when
collaboration benefits the district. Successful on issues important to Ft. Drum,
our Veterans, northern border trade, agriculture, education and other issues for
our North Country residents.

Since the election, we have seen a passionate group of liberal protestors, who
have voiced opposition to virtually all of the national Republican elected
representatives and their policies.

We respect those protesters right to express their political opinion, even though
we frequently disagree with their views.

We share Elise Stefaniks concern, and our friends on the left concerns that health
care reform is essential to America. Elise Stefanik is surprising no one in her
pursuit of health care reform. She was overwhelmingly elected making a promise
to repeal and replace the ACA.
Obamacare is falling apart and has saddled the American people with rising costs,
less choice, and skyrocketing premiums. Reforms are needed to bring about real
change for the people of New York State. And the North Country residents are
fully aware that doing nothing will result in a disaster for them and their families.
Doing nothing is exactly what would happen if any healthcare bill remained in
the hyper-partisan House of Representatives. Elise Stefaniks efforts has moved
the process to the United States Senate.

Democrats have a clear choice to make: whether to work together with the
Republicans to deliver a healthcare system that works for every American or
continue to work against Americans and protect the proven ACA failures.
Meanwhile, Republicans in the North Country will continue to stand with Elise
Stefanik. We understand and appreciate the work she is doing for our 21st
Congressional District. There is still much to do, and many important projects and
legislation to work on. And we remain very proud of our elected Representative.
