On the Purpose of Student Council
The purpose and function of the Student Council are:
1. to stimulate and develop the moral, intellectual and social life of PW students
2. to promote a spirit of friendliness and cooperation among the students and between the students and the teachers
3. to develop citizenship through responsible student government in the school
4. to coordinate and direct, under the guidance of staff and administration, extracurricular activities in the school

In other words, the student council is supposed to train the student to intergrade successfully into the democratic society as a functioning
member. The student council has little power, no more than organizing events. There is a moderation of democracy. This is totally justified as
anything that goes wrong would be corrected by the benign authority. The staffs and teachers are benign because they are not profit-motivated nor
able to gain any power from unreasonably intervene.

Mission Statement, Definition and Analysis

I, Jerry Wang, 1416745, will use my life striving to:
1. Extend the existence and virtuous development of Humanity infinitely.
2. Liberate the Damned of the Earth from economic exploitation, social alienation and political enslavement.
3. Prevent death, torment and abuse of the humans.

The Promise
I pledge to make the student council accountable because the student council is only benign and democratic if it does what students want.
These are the policies I will strive to get passed:
1. Implement transparent, two-way communication system between student council and students.
2. Allow students to check on members of student councils, members must honestly report progress.
3. Allow students to call for referendum when major decisions are made by the student council.
Allow students to rule petitions when a decision is against the interest of any student, if such petitions reach enough signatures, student council
must implement them.
