BARACK OBAMA

Most people know him as Barack Obama, but his full name is Barack Hussein
Obama II. He is a Democrat, which means he belongs to a political party in the
United States called the Democratic Party. He was the 44th president of the USA.
He was the first African-American who served as president. He was president of
the United States from 2009 to 2017.

He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961. His mothers name was Ann
Dunham; she was an anthropologist. His fathers name was Barack Hussein
Obama Sr.; he was an economist.

He lived in Indonesia with his mother and stepfather for four years. He speak only
English, but he know something about Spanish and Indonesia.

Obama attended 3 universities: Occidental College (1981), Columbia University

(1931) and Harvard. He studied political science at Columbia University and
graduated from law school at Harvard.

Obama has been married to Michelle Obama since 1992. She has a Bachelor of
Arts degree from Princeton University, and also a law degree from Harvard Law
School. She worked as a lawyer. They have two daughters, Malia Ann, who was
born in 1998 and Natasha, born in 2001. They lived in Chicago, but moved into
the White House on January 20, 2009.

Obama promised his daughters that the family would get a dog if he was elected
President. In April 2009, Senator Ted Kennedy, the brother of former President
John F. Kennedy, gave Obama one of his dogs, a Portuguese water dog
named Bo.
Obama has a half-sister who is a teacher in Hawaii. His father died from a car
accident in Africa. His mother died of cancer. His maternal grandmother died just
before Obama won the election to become President.

In 2007 Obama became candidate to become president of the Unites States. On

November 4th 2008 Obama won the presidency. On November 6th, 2012 he was
reelected as president. His successor is Donald Trump
