St. Jerome
It is easier said than done. Whether the sins of the paralytic were forgiven, only he
who forgave them knew for sure. “Arise and walk”: both he who arose and those
who saw him arise were able to vouch for this. Hence there is a bodily sign in
order to demonstrate a spiritual sign, though its impact is to curb the imperfections
of body and soul. And we are given an understanding of sin and many bodily
weaknesses to come. Perhaps, too, sins are forgiven first, so that with the causes of
infirmity removed health may be restored.

• Chille Verde Dinner. On Saturday, July 17, from 5 to 8PM, our parish is
hosting this dinner by Chef Tony Albin and Associates. THERE ARE ONLY
TWO WEEKS LEFT. One of our fundraisers, if you can help in any way, please
contact Margaret Dean, also if you need the tickets. We need to sell tickets
(adults $10, kids 6-12y $5), be available to serve to the guests, serve the take out
line, set up and clean up. Please, spread the word, sell tickets! And join us! Take
out is available.
• Pilgrimage 2010 – to the Eparchial Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help
in Olympia, Washington, August 20-21. Join Bishop Gerald, priests and faithful
from throughout the Eparchy for a spiritually refreshing and rejuvenating
weekend. Divine Liturgies, Matins and Vespers, a spiritual conference, and the
Holy Mysteries of Penance and Anointing of the Sick will highlight the
weekend. The Byzantine Challenge (contest) and children’s activities are also

The Diocese of Stockton is hosting a visit of the relic of the heart of St. John Vianney on
July 11 - 15, and VIANNEY offers the perfect opening for the tour and the ideal
introduction to the riveting story of the Curé of Ars. The schedule of events includes
special Masses and veneration of the relic. By attending the VIANNEY production, this

will also help support the relic tour. For more information, please visit

Svetlana Avetisyan.

Catholic drama in the country. More than 80,000 people have seen 145 performances of

parishes, seminaries, universities, schools, and pastoral conventions. The response has
been overwhelming - audiences come away on fire for the priesthood and the Sacraments,
youth are engaged, young men have felt the call to the priesthood, and thousands of
priests have been renewed and encouraged in their priestly vocations.
• Sacramento Catholic Forum presents Special Agent Eric Szatkowski
talking on The Dark Side of Digital Technology, on internet crimes against
children. The lunch and talk take place at Radison Hotel, 500 Leisure Lane in
Sacramento, on July 16, at 12PM. The cost is $25 in advance
(www.SacCatholicForum.org ), or $30 at the door.
