Seven Steps For Less Stress

Do these things and you should feel less stressed.

Cut stimulants. Caffeine and nicotine are stimulants, so cut out coffee and cigarettes.
Drink herbal tea instead.
Eat well. Sugary foods give you a quick boost, but they are bad for you. Instead, eat
nutritious foods like fruits and cheese to give you energy.
Treat yourself. Give yourself a really relaxing treat, like a massage, or a session in a
steam room. Even just a swim in quiet surroundings can make you feel great.
Exercise. Exercise is one of the best things to do to relieve stress. It produces endorphins,
natures feel-good chemicals.
Have a laugh. One of the best ways to cope with stress is to have a good chuckle.
Have a bath before bed time. Research shows that a warm bath just before bed time
makes you sleep better.
Take vitamins. Your body deals with stress much better when it has the right balance of
nourishments.

Dear Johan,

Its very nice to hear from you. Im glad you are doing well in Singapore. Im quite
happy in my new school. Some of my classmates are from my old school so, Im not having
any problems.
In response to your letter, I heeded your advice and chose to jin the boy scouts as my
extra-curricular activity. Over the past three months, I have made countless new friends from
different schools. All of us share a common passion. The passion for knowledge, fellowship
and personal growth.
What I have found most interesting are the survival skills that I have learnt. I attended
one of the interschool outdoor camps organized by the Scouts Brigade. All participants got
the opportunity to share their knowledge in scouting, make new friends and even take part in
a rope knots skills competition.
Im glad I decided to join the boy scouts. Perhaps one day we could go on a camping
trip together when you get back. Im sure we will have a blast!
