Verification that professional development goals have been met (from PDP).

90% Paperless: The only paper used in my English classes was to facilitate class
brainstorms or activities, or assessments (essays or tests). Based on student feedback,
this was efficient and aided in organization of materials.
Observe Level 9 colleagues at least once this year
Transitions during classroom activities: I worked very hard on running an efficient
classroom, and students came to expect a consistent routine from the Do Now to the end
of class. My unit powerpoints are detailed but provided structure and ensured that class
ran smoothly. I am most proud of how I integrated technology to help students move at a
pace appropriate for them, but also balanced the needs of the class

student course evaluation surveys, observations/walkthroughs from department chair and
administrator.)

I think the best classrooms let student interest drive learning, and I used a mid-point course
evaluation to shape the end of the first semester, as well as the semester course evaluation to
make adjustments in my creative writing elective. I allowed for student choice in selection of a
work of nonfiction during the final unit in the freshman English course, as well as a variety of
alternative assessment options that allowed students to demonstrate competency in different
ways (creative assessment, written assessment, and a unit test).

I am proud of the ways in which I became involved at St. Ignatius during my first year as a
teacher. I was conscientious in participating in a variety of activities, as well as providing
helping hands where needed. I was continuously surprised by the talents and passions of our
student body, and loved attending their games and performances.
