DX200 Clear Code List Introduction
1 Introduction
The DX 200 Clear Code List contains descriptions of all clear codes sent from the call
control program blocks to the statistical process. This manual also describes the use of
the clear codes in the DX 200 system.
Clear codes have been given hexadecimal numbers from 0000H to 0FFFH.
Clear codes have been divided into four main classes:
0000H - 03FFH: normal clearing
0400H - 07FFH: internal congestion
0800H - 0BFFH: external congestion
0C00H - 0FFFH: subscriber errors
The main class 'normal clearing' consists of clear codes which have not been caused
by error in the network element or by subscriber error, but which nevertheless lead to
clearing of a call or to an interruption in call set-up.
The class has been further divided into four subclasses
0000H - 00FFH: normal clearing / normal clearing: normal clearing situations, for
example, subscriber busy
0100H - 01FFH: normal clearing / internal congestion: clear codes set by charging
and statistics and not leading to a release
0200H - 02FFH: normal clearing / external congestion: normal clearing situations,
caused by a congestion outside the network element, for example, by a congestion
on the radio path
0300H - 03FFH: normal clearing / subscriber error: normal congestion caused by the
subscriber's facility or equipment.
. The second main class, 'internal congestion' (0400H - 07FFH) consists of cases in
which a call or call set-up is interrupted because of an error in the originating exchange.
Primarily, the class contains clear codes associated with communication between the
various units and program blocks of the exchange and those associated with handling
of files.
The third main class, 'external congestion' (0800H -0BFFH) includes all the cases in
which a call or call set-up is interrupted because of an error outside the originating
exchange. This group consists mainly of clear codes related to inter-exchange signal-
ling.
The fourth main class, 'subscriber errors' (0C00H - 0FFFH) includes the cases in which
a call or call set-up is interrupted by a calling subscriber's error or by a failure in the sub-
scriber's equipment or by faulty subscriber signalling.
The clear codes are transferred from the call control to the statistical system in the fol-
lowing messages:
charging
facility charging (facility control)
call set-up interrupted
call interrupted
The clear codes affect both the tasks and outputs of the following system blocks and
program blocks:
