Overview of the Issue:
The problem our organization is fighting against is the unfair education of the mentally
disabled. This is a huge problem because it takes away big opportunities for future employment
and additionally social adjustment of the mentally disabled. The school system is not doing a
good job of handling these disabled students, and there aren't just a few of them, this is a
massive problem. A whopping 35% of 6.5 million students in America have a learning specific
mental disability (McFarland). Just in case you didn't know that's 2,275,000 people. With that
many disabled students you would think that schools would have an efficient system to the
students get to students to a decent place in the curriculum. In reality, a quarter of the mentally
disabled students spend 40% of their time outside of standard classes (McFarland). With our
system, students won't be missing out on these core classes, instead they will be spending
extra time afterward to reinforce what they learned. To us it makes no sense to spend less time
in classes and then be surprised at why the mentally challenged students aren't at the same
place. Overall we believe that the mentally disabled students will be better off with our system
and a few more hours hitting the books.

Mission statement: Creating equal opportunities for the mentally disabled

We are Education for Humanity and are aiming to create a society in which the mentally
disabled get the same shot as everyone else when it comes to getting a proper education. We
are taking all revenue that we receive and giving it to schools who are struggling getting help to
students with mental disabilities. The issue is that a lot of school don't have the funds to be able
to provide a program that would help those who need special help. Our funding is going straight
to the schools to create these programs. Here at Education for Humanity were all about equal
opportunity, and stand for everyone getting the same shot at getting an education. All we want
to do is make a difference in communities by providing school with the resources they need to
probably educate those with mental disabilities.

Action plan:
Short-term we plan to get immediate aid to local school that we know are lacking an
educational program. We are starting small and focusing on a small number of public schools
for the time being. But the plan is to, of course, grow with the support of our contributors and
with the support of the community's. We hope that as we become more successful, our
company will begin to grow in funding and in the number of school that will accept our help.
Looking into the future we want to be big enough to extend our help nationally to schools all
over the country. We don't want to live in the shadow of bigger organizations such as The
American Association of People with Disabilities(AAPD). They focus on many different topics
and issues with the disabled, one of them being providing an education. They have a different
approach by making pre-existing organizations for education more accessible. We are trying to
integrate programs for the mentally disabled into regular public schools. Were trying to break
down the barrier that separates the disabled from everybody else in society by providing them
with a proper education just like everyone else. Another organization providing help is The
Federation For Children With Special Needs, they are out to provide parents of children with
mental disabilities an education on how to take care and teach their children. We are aiming to
bring the education straight to the mentally disabled and integrate them into public schools. How
do we expect them to feel normal if we segregate them from everyone else. We really want to
focus on providing them with a proper education and doing that by integrating them into public
schools all across the country.

Financial need:
To make our organization run we will need approximately 20,000 dollars for each school
we hope to affect. We will need 18,250 dollars for tutor to work with the students every day of
the year for two hours at an average price of 25 dollars per hour (White). Another 500 dollars
will go towards the supplies that the tutors will need to effectively help the students (White).
After these expenses we will still have another 1,250 dollars a year to use on emergencies and
unexpected payments that were overlooked initially.
Overall our money will be allocated in the following format.
-!8,250 to tutors over a period of 50 dollars a day for a year.
-500 dollars a year budget for tutors to buy supplies.
-1,250 dollar emergency fund.
-20,000 dollar total multiplied by the number of schools reached by our organization.
