Annotated Bibliography

An annotated bibliography exactly what it sounds like. Its a bibliography that has
annotations to go with it. Your task is to complete a chart for each of the sources
provided. Keep in mind that this information will help you narrow the focus of this paper
and help classify evidence which will be used to support the argument in your paper.
Keep the prompt in ond and you review your sources: Are gender inequalities most
influenced by the economy, society, or religion? Defend your stand with evidence.

1. Ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment Society

The Equal Rights Amendment was a proposed amendment to the United States Constitution
designed to guarantee equal rights for women and men. The ERA was originally written by
Alice Paul and Crystal Eastman. In 1923, it was introduced in the Congress for the first time. T
he
amendment passed the House in 1971 and the Senate in 1972. Women were now able to receive
a certain amount of rights that weren't given to them before Many assumed the amendment
would be ratified very soon.

2. Why Most Women will Never become CEO Economy

Many believe that women are not able to be at a high position in a business or
workplace. Whether itd be their physical appearance, ability to lead, education, etc. As
of this past may, only 12 of companies out of 500 were ran by women. That just goes to
show how much women are being discriminated and ignored in the workplace.

3. Culture and Religion Should Not Justify Gender Religion


Inequality

Swaziland is a country where they value their culture and customs. Swazi customary
beliefs and religious practices continue to perpetuate gender inequality, suppress
women's voices and often used to justify different forms of violence against women.
Women and Men in Swaziland may face the same situations, but they get different
treatment and justification.

4. How Different Groups Spend Their Day (infographic) Society

This chart shows various types of things Men and Women do throughout their day. It
showed that men worked more than women. However, Women did work a lot as well,
including household work. Also, women focused more on education. This chart shows
us that women might not work as much as men but women have other work that
evens out.

5. Title IV Economy, Society

TItle IX protects from discrimination against sex in the world of education. It also
applies to institutions that receive federal financial assistance from ED. Some key issue
areas in which recipients have Title IX obligations are: recruitment, admissions, and
counseling; financial assistance; athletics; sex-based harassment; treatment of
pregnant and parenting students; discipline; single-sex education; and employment

6. Gender Equality- Fox News Society

Leslie makes an emotional argument while Kate makes factual evidence. Leslie states
unproven statements that cannot be backed up. However, Kate states statistics,
facts, and statements that are true and can be backed up. Leslies statements are her
own opinions.

The commercial clips show that women should not be discriminated or treated
differently in any way. They state that You (blank) like a girl should not be offensive.
That should not be a simile or metaphor used to describe anyone.
