Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification
Group Interview Name:___________________ Date:_________________
This is the script and questions to be used during a group interview that will be recorded and then transcribed.
Hello everyone and welcome to the group interview. Thanking you for taking the time out of your busy
schedules to speak with me. Also, Marta is here. She will be taking notes throughout the interview. We will be
using only first names during the session. The final report will be presented to the CEO. That final report will
not contain any names. Today we will be discussing the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training that you
completed. Do not feel that we are looking for the right answers. We need your honest opinions, thoughts, and

heard and that we miss nothing. To do that, the session will be recorded and transcribed. Now let us begin.
1. Thinking back to the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training, what do you think about the
training?
2. What aspects of the training were the best?
3. What aspects of the training were the worst?
4. Think back to before the training, did you feel comfortable working with members that were either
escalated at the beginning of the session or became escalated during the session with you?
5. How has the NCI training helped you while working with escalated members?
6. Please share an example of how NCI training has helped you while working with an escalated member?
7. How could the training be improved to help you in the field?
8. Of everything that we have discussed today, what is the most important item?
A summary of the discussion will be presented to the group at which time I will ask the group if I need to add
