Abstract: The seepage damage mechanism is explained, and the finite element simulation
software ABAQUS is introduced in the paper. The seepage field and stress field 3D finite element
numerical model of asphalt pavement are established by using the nonlinear dynamic analyzing
ability of ABAQUS. The occurrence and changing regularity of the pore water pressure, vertical
displacement and 3D stress are explored. Then the test on simulate road of one highway is made
to prove the theory results. The examples indicate that the simulation of seepage field under
rainfall condition and stress field under moving vehicle loads through ABAQUS software is
practicable with satisfactory results.
