Global Youth Summit (GYS) is a 1-day celebration of youth leadership that aims to engage and inspire
the worlds future experts. GYS is a space for young people to share their ideas and utilize their
diverse skill-sets, knowledge, and networks to effectively address persistent problems of today.
Global Youth Summit 2017 will focus on Achieving 2030 Sustainable Development Goals through
Youth Collaboration, Leadership, and Innovation. The 2017 topics are selected from the top 5
Sustainable Development Goals, themes and issues that impact the world and the youth, that youth
of today believe are most relevant and can contribute to most:*

#GlobalYouth4SDGs is a competition which will showcase the leadership potentials and innovative
efforts of our youth by developing sustainable programs which addresses five of the most relevant
issues identified by the youth in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The contest winners will be provided with the resources to implement the project for 1-year. The
impact and assessment of the projects will be documented and presented on the next Global Youth
Summit.
Who can join?
The contest is open to all youth ages 14 to 35 years of age
They should form a group with 3 to 5 members.
Each group shall submit a concept paper with a proposed sustainable project which
can be implemented in communities in the Philippines. The project should be able to address one of
the following goals:
1. Quality Education
2. No Poverty
3. Decent Job and Economic Growth
4. Climate Action
5. Zero Hunger
Submission of entries starts at 12:00 AM (PHT) November 21, 2016. All entries must be received
by 11:59 PM (PHT), January 15, 2017.

Global Youth Summit 2017: A Multi-sector Partnership
Young people today are our leaders of tomorrow. The role of present-day leaders is to prepare and
empower the next generation of leaders through education and experiences that will enable them to
better understand complex global challenges and trends.
GYS 2017 will include top leaders from the government, non-government, and business sectors as
mentors and patrons, particularly for #GlobalYouth4SDGs.

Venue: Mall of Asia Arena
Participants: 15,000 student leaders (high school and college) and young professionals
