Cananyonetellmewhattherequirementsareforwhenamainbreakerisrequiredin
adistributionpanel?Isthereasectioninthecodethatcoversthis?

Iknowthatifthepanelisratedthesameasanupstreambreakerfeedingthepanel
thennomainisrequired.Ialsoknowthatifapanelissubfedwithfeedthroughlugs
thennomainisrequiredifthesubfedpanelisthesameratingasthemaininthe
upstreampanel.Isthiscorrect?

TheonlycaseIcanthinkofwhereamainisrequiredispossiblyapanellocatedon
thesecondaryofatransformerinordertosatisfytherequirementsofthesecondary
protectionofthetransformer.

secondarywindings.Youhaveaddressedthemalready.Buteveninthosecases
whereaovercurrentprotectionisneeded,youareneverrequiredtoachievethat
protectionbyuseofamainbreakerinapanel.
